Daniel Bowen Records “Blood Moon”

Composer Daniel Bowen tracks horns, strings and vocals with engineer Brendan McGeehan. The recording will appear on Daniel’s upcoming album Blood Moon.

The Blood Moon is a celestial event that occurs on Jewish feast days. Daniel’s compositional cycle coincides with these events. He plans to release his project on the fourth blood moon of this year, in September. The music can be described as haunting, with simple melodies and a minimalist style. Each part of the cycle has a distinct character, blending orchestral and electronic instruments to create unique textures. At Forge Recording, Daniel recorded the strings, French horns, and soprano vocals. Many of the musicians are regulars in the Ocean City Pops, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Philadelphia Opera Company.
